The Edge has given a health update on his U2 band-mate Bono following his cycling accident saying he "basically can't move for the next couple of months."
Bono fractured his left arm, shattered his elbow, damaged his back and eye socket in a fall in New York's Central Park last month.
Speaking to radio network Kroq, The Edge said, "He actually showed us an X-Ray a couple of days later, and it looked like a miniature of the Eiffel Tower was in his elbow.
"The same had to happen with a fracture of his pinky; the joint there was totally messed up, so that needed a bone graft. And the most vulnerable was actually his upper back, the scapula, because they couldn't put any plates in there or they decided not to do surgery."
He added that his friend is undergoing physiotherapy but, "He basically can't move for the next couple of months."
The guitarist then joked, "We're kind of lucky he was wearing a helmet so he didn't actually break Central Park. He's made of tough stuff, and he's bouncing back."
Yesterday U2 announced their 19-date iNNOCENCE and eXPERIENCE world tour for 2015 with "special gigs" to be confirmed for Dublin at a later date.
