Actor Idris Elba is reportedly hoping to compete in the Circuit of Ireland rally as part of his new extreme racing show for the Discovery Channel.
The star of BBC drama Luther and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom will compete in motor rallying, power boating and aerobatic flying events for the series according to The Guardian, and he will try to master a different type of racing in each episode.
The Circuit of Ireland and Monte Carlo rallies will feature in the four-part series which will also be filmed in Florida, California and in Britain and Ireland.
Elba will be mentored by British rally champ Jimmy McCrae. The series airs on the Discovery Channel worldwide in mid-2015.
