Timothy Spall has been cast in the upcoming BBC drama Cider With Rosie.
According to the Radio Times, the actor will narrate the adaptation of Laurie Lee's 1959 book.
The book follows a young Laurie Lee during and after the First World War.
Spall said of the project: "Cider With Rosie was one of the first books I ever read and I'm delighted and charmed to be involved in the production playing the author himself."
Samantha Morton has been cast as Lee's mother Annie, June Whitfield will play Granny Wallon, Archie Cox will play Laurie Lee and Jessica Hynes will appear as Miss Crabby.
Cider With Rosie is set to air on BBC One in 2015.
