Former Doctor Who companion Catherine Tate has ruled out a possible return to the show.
But in a web-chat with The Guardian, the comedian and actress revealed that she is keen to work with her old co-star David Tennant again.
Tate played Donna Noble on Doctor Who and initially made a one-off appearance in the 2006 Christmas special. She then became a regular in 2008 and made her final appearance in 2010.
"Unfortunately I think Donna's storyline would prevent her from coming back, because any memory of the Doctor, of her time travelling with him, and the adventures she embarked on, would kill her," Tate wrote. "So I can't see a storyline being able to bring her back."
Tate praised the show's current star Peter Capaldi, noting: "I think Peter is wonderful in the role, and I'm really enjoying the eighth season. He's a fantastic actor, and his wit and intelligence shines."
Tate confirmed that she and Tennant - who also worked together in a 2011 stage production of Much Ado About Nothing - are "looking for future projects together".
"Yes, working with David is the best," she wrote. "We get on so well and it's just always so much fun.
"I don't know how to describe it - it's just that something clicked when we first started working together from day one on The Runaway Bride and hopefully will continue to."
