The Steve Jobs biopic, which was last week dropped by Sony Pictures, has now been picked up by Universal.
A deal has been struck to bring the biopic about the late Apple co-founder to Universal, a studio spokesperson confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
Danny Boyle will direct the project from a script by Aaron Sorkin, with Michael Fassbender attached to star as Jobs.
The film is based on Walter Isaacson's 2011 biography iSteve: The Book of Jobs, and the premise follows Jobs preparing for three major presentations throughout his life.
Sorkin previously told The Daily Beast: "Each of these three scenes is going to take place before a product launch - backstage before a product launch. The first one being the Mac; and the second one being NeXT, after he had left Apple; and the third one being the iPod."
Initially, Christian Bale had been set to play Jobs, but withdrew at the start of the month.
