RTÉ 2fm has launched its nationwide Give a Gift campaign for St Vincent de Paul in association with Aldi. Listeners can donate an unwrapped gift to any Aldi staff member at any of the 112 Aldi stores nationwide until Friday December 5, 2014.
As part of the campaign, on Friday December 5, 2fm will broadcast live from the Benetton window on St Stephen's Green at the top of Grafton Street in Dublin, and "some of the biggest names in Irish music and entertainment will be popping by to contribute on the day".
On the day, Bernard O'Shea, Keith Walsh and Jennifer Maguire will host Breakfast Republic from the Benetton window, with Ryan Tubridy, Nicky Byrne and Jenny Greene, Rick O'Shea and Colm Hayes also broadcasting from the same location.
Head of 2fm Dan Healy said: "We are delighted to be involved in this campaign with St Vincent de Paul and Aldi. It's a great cause and 2fm wants to make sure that everyone has what they need for this festive season.
"If you're in Dublin on December 5, make sure to come along to our radiothon on St Stephen's Green as we will have a lot of well known faces, high profile guests and one or two surprises on the day!"
