JK Rowling has completed the script for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
The Harry Potter spin-off film franchise will begin shooting in 2015, but it won't hit cinema before late 2016.
"Jo has written a wonderful script," producer David Heyman told the Daily Telegraph, before adding: "It's early stages.
"David Yates is directing and we start filming next year. I'm just really excited about it."
The film will be based on the Hogwarts textbook of the same name and the adventures of its author Newt Scamander, who graduated from Hogwarths almost a century ago.
Warner Bros is planning a trilogy of movies, although no actor has been named the fictitious character.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will arrive on November 18, 2016, with its sequels scheduled for November 16, 2018, and November 20, 2020.
