Actor Khali Best, who plays Dexter Hartman, will leave EastEnders at the end of his current contract.
A spokesperson for EastEnders told Daily Star Sunday: "We can confirm that Khali Best will be written out of EastEnders before Christmas. We wish him all the best for the future."
Best said: "I've had an amazing two years at EastEnders. However, I am now looking for new challenges in future roles."
Sam Strike (Johnny Carter) and Ben Hardy (Peter Beale) are also leaving the BBC soap in the future.
