Katherine Heigl has said she wishes she could end her feud with Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes.

The 35-year-old actress, who starred in Grey's Anatomy as Dr Izzie Stevens from 2005 to 2010, has expressed regret that Rhimes has been left with a negative impression of her.

Speaking to Extra host Mario Lopez, Heigl revealed her upset about making a bad impression on Rhimes and admits it "sucks" that she was associated with "nasty people".

Referring to an interview in which Rhimes said: "There are no Heigls in this situation. I don't put up with bull**** or nasty people. I don't have time for it", the State of Affairs star said: "I am sorry that she feels that way and I wish her nothing but greatness and I have nothing negative to say about [her]."

Heigl continued: "I'm a big fan of her work. I watch Scandal every week and so I'm sorry she's left with such a crappy impression of me. I wish I could do something to change that. Maybe I will be able to someday."
