Bono, Ellie Goulding, Ed Sheeran, Elbow, Coldplay's Chris Martin, Sinéad O'Connor, One Direction and Emeli Sandé are among the stars who recorded the new Band Aid 30 single on Saturday, November 15.

The session to record the new version of Do They Know It's Christmas? took place in a studio in London's Notting Hill.

Also appearing on the track will be Bastille, Clean Bandit, Paloma Faith, Angelique Kidjo, Olly Murs, Rita Ora, Seal, Sam Smith, Roger Taylor and Jessie Ware.

Speaking to reporters, Bono said: "We've been trying to make this kind of event a thing of the past - we want to make Band Aid history - for quite some time."

He added that if every country had the values of Britain "and kept the promises they make at these big G8 meetings and the like we wouldn't have to be standing here".

The single will be released on Monday, with proceeds going to fight the Ebola crisis.

One Direction uploaded this video to their YouTube account yesterday, November 14.
