Watch! Preview of tonight's The Works

Check out a preview of tonight's show which includes an interview with Love/Hate's Janet, a review of new crime movie The Drop and the story behind Man on Bridge, a new crowd-sourced book featuring the story and photography of Arthur Fields.

Have we all gotten over the shock of the series five finale of Love/Hate on Sunday yet? That bloodbath will be with us for quite some time! We may have had to bid farewell to the beloved character of Janet – but thankfully actress Mary Murray is back on our screens in The Works tonight on RTÉ One at 8:30PM! Mary will be sharing her top cultural tips and personal recommendations - don’t miss it!

Eithne Shortall and Declan Hughes will be joining John Kelly to review The Drop, a new crime drama hitting cinemas nationwide this weekend, from Academy Award nominated director Michaël R. Roskam and starring Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace and James Gandolfini.

The Works will be exploring the story behind Man on Bridge, a new crowd-sourced book featuring the story and photography of Arthur Fields. Before the advent of digital cameras and smart phones, Arthur was the unofficial photographer of Dublin city – a stalwart on O’Connell Bridge from the 1930s up until 1988 who documented couples on first dates, people visiting town for the day, happy parents with newborn babies, sports fans on their way to matches, and even some celebrities!

Also on the show tonight, will be the featured finalists of the inaugural Hennessy Portrait Prize, and a visit to Second Skin at the National Craft Gallery Kilkenny, an exhibition exploring the design and production of clothing and textiles in Ireland.

Film, TV, fashion, art and photography – a great mix for your arts fix this Friday evening with The Works on RTÉ One at 8:30PM!
