Dave Grohl has spoken about the Foo Fighters' desire to headline the Glastonbury Festival.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the front man reiterated that the band are keen to top the bill, saying: "All they've gotta do is call".

"I keep telling them all they've gotta do is call my phone," said the 45-year-old.

"She [Glastonbury's Emily Eavis] hasn't called, I have not got the call yet. The Foo Fighters haven't been there since 1998 and that's a fun festival."

Foo Fighters performed on the Main Stage at Glastonbury in 1998, when the event was headlined by Primal Scream, Blur and Pulp.

Yesterday, live on RTÉ 2fm, Grohl announced to Rick O'Shea that the Foo Fighters will be playing Slane Castle on May 30, 2015.
