Cumberbatch tries to "normalise" fame

Benedict Cumberbatch has revealed how to copes with being famous.

The Sherlock star said to tries to "normalise" fame through his family and friends, and also turns to drawing sometimes.

When asked how he deals with fame during an appearance on The Andrew Marr Show, he replied: "I try to normalise it – friends and family, things that I've known longer than any of this nonsense, and nature, moving on from being observed in that manner.

"(And) a little bit of drawing. I do a little bit of pen and ink but canvas work has been a little while off, I need the space and a bit more time. But, yeah, I love sketching still, really love that."

Cumberbatch announced his engagement to director Sophie Hunter last week.
