Actress and philanthropist Eva Longoria revealed to Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show (November 7) that she is inspired by Bono.

Speaking about her philanthropy and activism the 39-year-old former Desperate Housewife explained that while she has been asked to help hundreds of different charities, Bono inspired her to focus her efforts on just one cause.

Longoria told Ryan: "I don't know him but I have such an amazing amount of respect for him and everything that he has done.

"He actually inspired me to be laser focused. He decided long ago to focus on AIDS in Africa and said 'I'm going to make a difference in this part of the world, in this particular issue'. When I started my foundation I thought the same thing.

"I get hundreds of requests a week to help save dolphins in Japan, to help AIDS in Africa, sex-trafficking in Thailand, and while these are all very important issues, I can't do them all. So when I saw Bono's model of philanthropy I thought, you know that's what I want to do, I'm going to be laser focused and make a really big difference in this particular area."

The Eva Longoria Foundaiton helps Latinas build better futures for themselves and their families through education and entrepreneurship.

Longoria also spoke about her time on Desperate Housewives, describing it as the "most fun in her life".
