Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has hit out at her former Girls Aloud bandmate, Nadine Coyle, who claimed last year she did not want the band to split up.
The X Factor judge has spoken out for first time about comments Nadine Coyle made last year. Writing on Twitter at the time Coyle said: "you should know by now I had no part in any of this split business. I couldn't stop them. I had the best time and want to keep going.''
However speaking in interview with Attitude magazine the I Don't Care singer responded to Coyle's claims, she said: "She's full of s**t. What do you want us to say? She's full of s**t. She was the one who wanted to make a solo record. Which is why we took the hiatus.
''She wants to come out and say we broke the band up? No! She shouldn't tell porkie pies. She should remember why we took the hiatus after seven years...''
She added: ''OK, so do you want us to tell the truth? She wasn't going to make another Girls Aloud record until she got a solo deal. I feel she held us to ransom and then made her solo record deal.
''It's the truth. She's saying that we broke the band up. So there you go.''
Cheryl is on course to make UK chart history if her single I Don't Care reaches the top spot on Sunday (Nov 9) as she will become the first British female artist to have five No. 1 singles in the UK. She released her fourth studio album Only Human on Friday (Nov 7).
