RTÉ's Morning Edition, presented by Keelin Shanley, will come to an end this December.
RTÉ has confirmed that the news and features programme will not return following the end of its current run this year.
A spokesperson for RTÉ said in a statement that “the decision has been made due to ongoing financial pressures”.
RTÉ TEN has learned that presenter Keelin Shanley will move to present RTÉ’s Radio 1’s popular late night news and current affairs programme The Late Debate from January, in addition to her role as presenter of RTÉ One’s The Consumer Show.
Other staff will continue working with RTÉ News and will be redeployed within RTÉ’s online and television news operations.
The programme which is broadcast live five days a week from 9am-11am, began in January 2013 and features a mix of news, sport, business and entertainment.
RTÉ News will continue to broadcast morning news headline bulletins on RTÉ News Now.
