It's been confirmed that Zoë Ball will once again fill in for an absent Claudia Winkleman on this weekend's Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One.

Ball joined Tess Daly to co-host the competition last weekend (Nov 1 and 2) when Winkleman's daughter was taken to hospital following a Halloween-related accident.

The 43-year-old's debut on the show was well-received, with viewers praising the presenter and calling for her to be given a more permanent role.

A BBC spokesperson said: "Zoë Ball will co-host Strictly Come Dancing this weekend. All our thoughts and very best wishes are with Claudia and her family at this time."

The Winkleman family issued a statement yesterday (Nov 4) in which they thanked the "NHS doctors, nurses and staff" for looking after 8-year-old Matilda.

"She is having the best care possible and we are hopeful of a full recovery," they added.
