Following Christian Bale's departure from the project, it is reported that Michael Fassbender is in early talks to play Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in the Danny Boyle-directed biopic, Jobs

Variety reports that the film is based on Walter Isaacson's biography Steve Jobs and has been adapted for the screen by The Newsroom and The West Wing's Aaron Sorkin.

It has already been reported that Seth Rogen is in talks to play another Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak.

Speaking to the Daily Beast about the film, Sorkin said it would be divided into three lengthy scenes, taking place backstage before key Apple launches.

"The first one being the Mac. The second one being NeXT. And the third one being the iPod," he said.

Sorkin added: "It's a little like writing about the Beatles. There are so many people out there that know him and revere him."
