Christian Bale has reportedly exited the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic from director Danny Boyle and writer Aaron Sorkin.

Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the actor withdrew from the film after "much deliberation and conflicting feelings" as he felt he was not the right person to play the Apple co-founder.

Bale joined Jobs following the departure of previous lead actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

Seth Rogen is rumoured to be taking on the role of Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

Sorkin has adapted the script for Jobs from Walter Isaacson's authorised biography which focuses on three high profile Apple product launches that came to define Jobs' life and the life of the company he co-founded.

Director Boyle is expected to hold casting meetings for the film this week.
