Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey has said that having children has restored a sense of wonder in his world.

Speaking at a press conference for Interstellar in London the star, who has three children with wife Camilla Alves said, "How has being a father informed me? Well I tell you it has restored a certain sense of wonder.

"I'm a very logical guy but anyone who has kids will know that very early on kids think logic is a bunch of baloney. When you tell a story, there's no end to any of them. There's never a period on the end of any story, it doesn't matter about logic, it doesn't matter that the river rose and the elephant and the leopard were separated. And they go 'No, no, no. You told me the world is round so that leopard could run east and come up on the other side of the elephant.' So you have to keep telling the story and it goes on and on and on!

"They also reminded me that when you have kids, every day they're seeing something for the first time. So it reminded me as we get older and we travel down the same paths and take some things for granted, you should travel down the same paths as if for the first time. I could go on and on about stuff I've learned from my kids!"

Interstellar hits cinemas on November 7.
