Scottish music legend Donovan, born Donovan Philips Leitch in 1946, will headline TradFest 2015 at Dublin Castle.
Between 1966 and 1969, the mellow-voiced Donovan had a string of eleven top-forty hits in a row, including Jennifer Juniper, Mellow Yellow, First There was A Mountain and Hurdy Gurdy Man.
As someone who emerged around the same heady mid-sixties period, he has often been loosely categorised with American musicians like Bob Dylan, Joan Baez and Pete Seeger. He shared the bill with all of these artists in the 1960s and 1970s.
He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 and The Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 2014. General Admission for the January 31 performance is €45.00. Unreserved seating venue, doors 8pm, performance 8.30pm. See TradFest 2015 for tickets.
