Sean Bean has joined Matt Damon in Ridley Scott's upcoming space survival drama The Martian.
The film centres on an astronaut (Damon) who is stranded in a Martian colony and tries to survive long enough for NASA to organise a rescue mission.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bean has been cast as a NASA flight director.
Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Michael Pena, Jeff Daniels and Kate Mara will also star in the film.
Bean can currently be seen in TNT's crime drama Legends.
