Pixies are to release a special 25th anniversary edition of their third album Doolittle as a three-disc set featuring 50 tracks including b-sides and live sessions.
The Boston band says that nearly half the tracks on Doolittle 25, released on December 1, have not been commercially released before.
Pixies formed in 1986 and enjoyed their first major success in the UK and Ireland in the late eighties and went on to become one of the most influential bands of the era, popularising their `quiet/loud' dynamic across five albums before their split in 1993.
They reunited in 2004 and announced a full tour. Earlier this year they released Indie Cindy, their first studio album since 1991's Trompe le Monde, reaching number four in the Irish charts.
