Rob Lowe has signed up to lead a new NBC comedy pilot.
The actor will play a "worldly, adventurous and newly sober narcissist" who decides to move back to his hometown in order to be a good father to his teenage children, reports Deadline.
He will also act as executive producer on the project, alongside Pete Huyck and Alex Gregory.
Lowe is known for his roles in sitcom Parks and Recreation as Chris Traeger and The West Wing as Sam Seaborn. He also played the politician Robert McCallister on Brothers & Sisters.
Earlier this year Lowe starred in comedy pilot The Pro, but it was not picked up for a full series by NBC.
