Joni Mitchell will release a four-disc best-of album, Love Has Many Faces: A Quartet, A Ballet, Waiting to Be Danced, on November 17.
The 70-year-old singer-songwriter has revealed she decided to release a four-disc compilation so that she could feature different moods of her music.
Speaking about the upcoming release, Mitchell said: "Instead of it being an emotional roller coaster ride as it was before - crammed into one disc - themes began to develop. Moods sustained.
"When this long editorial process (two years) finally came to rest, I had four ballets or a four-act ballet - a quartet. I also had a box set."
