He's been hitting the headlines this week as extracts from his unflinchingly honest new memoir are released, and today it's been revealed that Graham Norton is quite the fan of Tom Cruise.

With all the rumours and stories that fly around about Tom Cruise you would expect that he could be quite a handful to deal with as a guest on a chat show, high-maintenance some might say, but Graham Norton thinks otherwise.

Writing in his new memoir The Life And Loves Of A He Devil the Cork native has plenty to say about Tom Cruise, who is arguably the most famous actor in the world. 

Norton writes: "I have interviewed a great number of famous people over the years but Tom Cruise is one of the handful who have actually dazzled me with their star quality. 

"He makes you feel hypnotised by his gaze and all my preconceptions about the man melted away.

"He’s also one of the very few stars who doesn't just shine his light on his host. Everyone who met him backstage felt exactly the same as he shook hands and remembered each name, no matter what their job description.

"Humble and presidential at the same time - it may be an act, but if so, it’s the best I've ever seen."
