Comedian Russell Brand has revealed that he loved being married to pop superstar Katy Perry.
It's been three years since the A-List couple went their separate ways after 14 months of marriage, and it appears the 39-year-old comedic actor can now look back fondly on their union.
Speaking to Matt Lauer on American daytime show, The Today Show, Brand said: "I really enjoyed it. Katy Perry is an amazing person."
He continued: "What happened was after you get married, like anyone who's been married or come out of a relationship, you obviously have a lot of expectations."
Brand added: "And if those expectations don't work out, then it's probably time to grow a big beard and walk around in pyjamas. That's my advice."
The former couple began dating in 2009 and became engaged on New Year's Eve of that year.
They went on to tie the knot in October 2010 in a traditional Hindu ceremony in Rajasthan, India but, surprisingly, Brand filed for divorce during the festive season in 2011.
