Anne Hathaway has revealed the reasons why she wore that pale pink Prada gown to the 2013 Academy Awards.
Hathaway, who won Best Supporting Actress at the 2013 Oscars, revealed to Harper's Bazaar that she has originally intended on wearing a different dress altogether but then found out that her Les Miserables co-star Amanda Seyfried planned to wear the same dress but in a different colour.
Speaking about the night before the ceremony Hathaway said, "I didn't have a friggin' dress. Which I normally wouldn't care about, but I really needed a dress, and everybody hates me, and I just really needed a dress."
The morning of the Oscars Prada gifted the actress with the pink dress, "I was like, 'Wow, I can do this. It's beautiful. It's appropriate. It's modern. It's minimal.' I look in the mirror, turn to Adam [Shulman, her husband] and say, 'It looks like my nipples are hard'. He says, 'You look beautiful. Your nipples look pointy. The red carpet's about to close, we gotta go'."
The dress, which has appeared on countless worst-dressed lists, didn't do the star any favours on the red carpet - but at least we know she only wore it because she had no other options!
