Glen Hansard will re-group his full band for a performance in aid of the Peter McVerry Trust on December 15 at Vicar Street, his first live show in Dublin since his two-night stint in Vicar Street in November 2013.
Special guests for the show will be revealed at a later date. The band features members of The Frames, as well as brass and string sections.
Glen has spent most of the year recording and writing the follow-up to last year’s Rhythm and Repose album. Earlier in the year, he performed several shows in Brazil and he did a tour of Australia with Eddie Vedder. A short summer tour in the US included a date at the Lollapalooza Festival.
Tickets for the Peter McVerry Trust concert are priced €30, and will be on sale on Thursday, October 9, 9am from www.ticketmaster & outlets nationwide. All profits from the show will go to the Peter McVerry Trust which was established in 1983 by Fr Peter McVerry to tackle homelessness, drug misuse and social disadvantage.
