Steve Martin will be honoured with the American Film Institute's Life Achievement Award in 2015.
The comedian and actor follows in the footsteps of previous winners Harrison Ford, Al Pacino, Mel Brooks, Dustin Hoffman and Warren Beatty.
The accolade is awarded to a performer "whose talent has in a fundamental way advanced the film art; whose accomplishment has been acknowledged by scholars, critics, professional peers and the general public; and whose work has stood the test of time."
Martin will receive the award at a special gala tribute on June 4, 2015 in Los Angeles.
