Thandie Newton and Melissa George have joined the cast of the upcoming NBC miniseries, The Slap.
The actresses join Zachary Quinto, Peter Sarsgaard and Mary Louise-Parker in the show.
The Slap, which is based on a 2011 Australian show of the same name, is described as a "complex family drama" which explodes when a man slaps another couple's misbehaving child.
Australian actress George also starred in the original series, and will reprise her role as Rosie, a hippie wife and meddlesome mother to 5-year-old son Hugo.
Newton will appear as Aisha, a doctor, wife and mother of two children.
The Slap will be directed by Lisa Cholodenko from a script by Jon Robin Baltz.
