Sheeran to perform new single on The Late Late

Ed Sheeran has announced that he will perform his new single Thinking Out Loud on The Late Late Show tonight - tune in from 9.35pm.

Thinking Out Loud is the third single from his platinum-selling and number 1 album X, and will be released on November 21.

Ed's Late Late Show appearance comes as he embarks on four sold-out shows in Dublin's 3Arena.

X has become the biggest and fastest-selling album of 2014 thus far and has sold over 2.1 million copies worldwide and has now out-sold the biggest album of last year: One Direction’s Midnight Memories.

Last month, Ed made history after held the #1 spot in the UK Official Albums Chart for eight consecutive weeks, making him one of only four artists to hold the #1 spot for eight weeks or longer this millennium following The Beatles, Adele and James Blunt. Upon release, the album peaked at #1 on iTunes in 83 countries, received the highest ever amount of week one global album streams on Spotify (over 23 million) and has become the most played album on Spotify since release.

He has just been announced to perform at this years European MTV Video Music Awards on November 9th in Glasgow, where he is nominated for two awards, Best Male and Best UK & Ireland Act.
