Naomi Campbell has been cast in Fox's new drama Empire, it has been reported.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the supermodel has landed a major recurring role in the series about the life of Lucious Lyon, the head of a hip-hop record label.
Terrence Howard plays Lucious Lyon, while Bryshere Gray plays Hakeen, the potential heir to Lucious.
Campbell's character Camilla is having an affair with the much younger and easily influenced Hakeem.
Lee Daniels (The Butler) executive producer on the project, said of casting Campbell: "Naomi is a beautiful actress. Underrated in my mind. She will be wonderful as Camilla. I am truly thrilled to have one of my close friends join us."
Campbell said: "It's an honour to follow in the footsteps of actresses like Halle Berry, Oprah, Gabourey Sidibe and Mo'Nique, and work with Lee Daniels. I'm looking forward to joining Lee and this amazing cast on set."
Empire will debut in early 2015 on Fox.
