The hugely successful Disney animated movie Frozen has been targeted in a $250 million plagiarism lawsuit.
Peruvian writer Isabella Tanikumi claims that the film is closely based on her life, citing 18 instances in which the film steals from her memoirs.
Living My Truth and Yearnings of the Heart details Tanikumi's experiences as a youngster living at the foot of the Andes mountains.
The memoirs feature two sisters who become closer after an earthquake strikes and causes the death of a loved one, as well as suitors named Hans and Cristoff.
One sister injures the other and then hides herself away through shame. Even one of the Frozen DVD covers is said to share similarities with the cover of Tanikumi's memoir.
It has previously been suggested that Frozen is based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairytale The Snow Queen.
A huge hit when it was released last year, Frozen earned more than $1 billion at the box office and is the highest-grossing animated movie in cinema history.
