It's the end of the initial run of The Imelda May Show (9.30pm, RTÉ One), the fun and games continue on Downton Abbey (9.00pm, UTV), while The Ryder Cup 2014 (10.00am, Sky Sports 4) reaches its conclusion.
The Imelda May Show, 9.30pm, RTÉ One
It's not been a surprise that this show has proved to be a big hit as the formula is proven with Jools Holland on the BBC, Imelda May is a great host, and the music hasn't been bad either. In this first season finale, Imelda's musical guests include Scottish singer Paolo Nutini, Ireland's own Damien Dempsey, legendary US rockabilly singer Wanda Jackson (no prizes for guessing who'll be duetting with her), veteran folk band Altan and singer/songwriter Seraphim Kelly.
Downton Abbey, 9.00pm, UTV
With the house recovering from the night’s events, Robert's faced with a difficult decision. As Daisy continues to struggle with her studies, Mrs Patmore has an idea which might solve everything. Thomas has it in for Baxter; will his meddling ruin her friendship with Molesley? And as Rose tries to convince Robert of the virtues of a wireless radio, Lord Merton continues his pursuit of Isobel and when Mary puts her reputation on the line, Anna becomes a reluctant accomplice.
The Ryder Cup 2014, 10.00am, Sky Sports 4
The final day of this always enjoyable event – even people who wouldn't know a nine iron from a tee watch the Ryder Cup - features the singles matches. It was in these contests that the European team engineered their ‘Miracle at Medinah’ in 2012, when they won eight of the 12 singles matches, and halved one of the others, to secure a thrilling triumph. Same again, please! Unless, of course, the cat's already in the bag for Europe.
