Brendan Gleeson and his sons Domnhall and Brian will star for the first time together in a new production of Enda Walsh's play The Walworth Farce.

Brendan and Brian announced the news at a press event in The Olympia Theatre Dublin, with Brendan strolling on stage joking "I expected there to be dry ice."

We caught up with the two stars to chat about the play, watch the interview by clicking the link on the left.

The production of the play, which is described as "furiously funny" opens on January 14, 2015 and runs for four weeks. Previews of the play will be held 10 - 13 January.

The Walworth Farce will be directed by multiple Olivier Award winner Sean Foley and will see Brendan, Domhnall and Brian play a father and two sons who have left Ireland and are trapped in a tiny flat in London.

Brendan said of the project: "Doing The Walworth Farce with the two lads and Leona is now the focus of my year. It will be exhilarating and challenging in equal measure - a special time."

Domhnall, who was unable to attend the launch as he's working in Canada, said this was "everything I've ever wanted in one job; great actors who I love, a beautiful, crazy, hilarious script, tip-top director and my favourite venue in the country. I'm so proud to be doing this in Dublin with my family and I cannot wait till January. Yeow!!!"

Brian added: "To do this with Domhnall and Brendan is going to be a lot of fun, for us and for the audience. Should be a great night in the theatre."

Tickets for The Walworth Farce go on sale this Friday, September 26 at 9am.
