Colin Farrell has confirmed his role in True Detective and is the only name released so far for the second series of the HBO hit.
Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson were the stars of the first series - the second series will boast an entirely new cast.
“I’m doing the second series," the actor told the Sunday World. “I’m so excited.” He referred to his involvement in eight episodes, with commitments to a four to five month shoot.
“I know very little about it, but we're shooting in the environs of Los Angeles which is great. It means I get to stay at home and see the kids."
The names of other cast members are under wraps, according to Farrell. Rachel McAdams and Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss are believed to be in contention for the role of a “no nonsense” Californian sheriff who becomes a gambler and alcoholic.
