Mark Knopfler will be performing shows from May to August 2015, the first opportunity for fans to hear live songs from the album, Tracker, due for release in January 2015. He plays Dublin’s 3 Arena on Friday May 15.
Knopfler, who is currently putting the finishing touches to Tracker in his west London studio, British Grove. He will be performing with a seven-piece band most of whom have been working with him for the best part of two decades.
The band comprises Guy Fletcher (keyboards), Richard Bennett (guitar), Jim Cox (piano), Mike McGoldrick (whistle and flute), John McCusker (fiddle and cittern), Glenn Worf (bass), and Ian Thomas (drums).
The new album will contain guest performances from Ruth Moody, Bruce Molsky, Nigel Hitchcock and Phil Cunningham. Tracker will be the ninth solo album from the multiple Grammy award-winning musician.
