Rosario Dawson and Jessica Biel are the latest stars said to be in contention for the female lead in the second season of True Detective.
According to The Wrap, seven actresses have been invited back to read for the role of a tough California sheriff with alcohol and gambling problems, and Sin City's Dawson is said to be the new frontrunner.
Biel, Malin Akerman and Jaimie Alexander are reportedly strong contenders while Rachel McAdams and Elisabeth Moss have also been linked to the series in recent weeks.
Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn and Taylor Kitsch are expected to take on the three other leading roles.
