Downton Abbey star Lesley Nicol has revealed that she turned down the opportunity to take part in both MasterChef and Strictly Come Dancing.
Nicol, who plays cook Mrs Patmore in the popular period drama, revealed that she turned down several offers to appear on reality TV.
Speaking to Digital Spy, she said, "I'm not a cook in real life. I've been asked to do MasterChef, but you have to be a certain standard before you even start, and I'm not of that standard! So it would be humiliating."
She continued: "They've asked me to do Strictly as well, but they'd have me being pushed through a cannon, so best not!"
Downton Abbey returns for its fifth series on Sunday, September 21 at 9pm on UTV.
