Kendall Jenner has said she asks her sister Kim Kardashian not to attend any of her fashion shows as she wants people to take her seriously as a model.
The 18-year-old star, who has modelled for Chanel, Diane Von Furstenburg and Marc Jacobs to name a few, is making a name for herself in the fashion world, but she has said that it can be difficult to be taken seriously when she is known for her part in Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
Speaking to The Cut, Kendall said: "She called me before and was like, 'Hey I was invited to the show, I just wanted to let you know. Do you want me to come?' And I was like, 'No'."
She added, "I want to be high fashion. I want to be taken seriously. People think that this just came to me. But it didn't. What I have has almost worked against me."
On her family name affecting her work she commented, "People didn't take me seriously a a model . . . I went on castings and some people weren't feeling me because of my name. But it was great when people didn't recognise me. I was like, 'Thank you, please don't recognise me'."
