Tom Hardy will not do another romantic comedy after This Means War.
The actor said that the McG-directed 2012 film put him off the genre.
"I love to do things I hadn't done before," Hardy told USA Today.
"I didn't understand how you could do something which is so much fun and be so miserable doing it. I probably won't do a romantic comedy again, do you know what I mean?"
He starred with Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine in This Means War, which centred around two spy friends who are both keen on the same woman.
Hardy will next be seen in The Drop and stars in Mad Max: Fury Road and Child 44, both of which are due next summer.
