RTÉ2 has launched a brand new schedule, new look and new channel identity, focusing on creating a distinctive, youthful and relevant public service channel.
There are over 24 home-produced shows alongside 18 returning series, including the highly anticipated fourth season of Homeland, the concluding season of Mad Men and the second series of Viking, which is filmed in Ireland.
The new season will kick off on Monday September 22 when the new look of the channel will be unveiled.
The exciting mix of programming will include a host of new documentaries and reality series. Connected is a first-of-it's-kind commission, a reality soap that follows real people, real lives and real drama. The cast of six women get to control what and where they shoot for the 20-episode series.
Angela Scanlon presents a provocative four-part series Full Frontal exploring the quest for happiness or perfection, while Eoghan McDermott hosts a two-part science-bases series Drunk, which explores the effects of alcohol on the body and the mind.
Niall Breslin is at the centre of Bressie's Teenage Kicks, which delves into the life of teenagers in some of Limerick's toughest estates. He works with teens from different communities to help them express themselves through music.
Three-part series Meet the McDonaghs follows Kelly McDonagh and her family, providing an insight into the unique Traveller culture and their attitudes to love, religion, morality, education and family.
Following the critical acclaim of Reality Bites: The Notorious documentary, Conor McGregor returns to the small screen for The Notorious - The Series. The six-parter follows him over six months as he continues his quest for MMA and world domination.
Maia Dunphy is also back for her entertaining series What Women Want, Norah Casey heads up a new series Norah's Traveller Academy and Don't Tell The Bride is back with six new brides and grooms.
In the comedy domain, there's Holding Out For A Hero, alongside returning favourites Damo & Ivor, The Savage Eye: The Final Solution, Republic of Telly and The Fear.
The documentaries offering is as rich as ever and includes: The Proposal, Guardians of the City Vogue Does the Afterlife, Smack em up, Tongue Tied, Clubland, One Ocean – No Limits and Silk Roads to Shanghai.
The ever-stylish Darren Kennedy presents the brand new show #Trending, which delves into fashion, pop culture, street style, celebrity trends and red carpet hits and misses.
On the music side of things, Other Voices returns for its 13th series, there will be an Ed Sheeran Special and the one-off documentary The Best of Electric Picnic.
RTÉ2 continues to experiment with new formats, this season bringing out Exiles: Vancouver, The Unemployables, devised and presented by Jennifer Maguire and Darren Kennedy, comedy panel show You Choose You Lose? hosted by Eoghan McDermott and Then Comes Marriage.
