Bill Murray has revealed which actresses he would like if a female-led Ghostbusters 3 was given the go-ahead.

The 63-year-old actor, who starred as Ghostbuster Dr Peter Venkman in the original 1980s franchise alongside Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Harold Ramis, has spoken out about the rumours of possible all-girl reboot.

Murray revealed to the Toronto star: "I'm fine with it. I would go to that movie, and they'd probably have better outfits, too."

"Melissa [McCarthy] would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny - God, she's funny!

"I like this girl Linda Cardellini (Mad Men) a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there."

Director Paul Feig, who is currently being courted by Sony to direct the third instalment of the Ghostbusters series, has previously worked with both McCarthy and Wiig on Bridesmaids.
