Oprah gathers her monthly columns in new book

Oprah: new book of essays
Oprah: new book of essays

In the first issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, Oprah wrote: 'We are all the causes of our own effects . . . That's why I'll never stop asking the question, "What do you know for sure?" A new book gathers her magazine columns.

In the fourteen years since Oprah wrote those words, she has retired The Oprah Winfrey Show - the highest-rated programme of its kind in history - and launched her own television network.

However, she has continued to offer words of wisdom in her monthly O column, What I Know For Sure, essays which have been revised, updated and collected in a collection with the same title, published by panmacmillan.

Oprah became the USA’s only African-American billionaire, and has been awarded both an honorary degree by Harvard University and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.  From her many and varied experiences, she has gleaned life lessons which she has shared with fans in her column, month after month.

The book is organised by theme - joy, resilience, connection, gratitude, possibility, awe, clarity, and power.
