While Sub Pop Records co-founder Bruce Pavitt first brought Nirvana, Mudhoney and Tad to music fans around the world, he has told RTÉ TEN that there is one band above all others he regrets the label missing out on.
In an interview to coincide with the release of his new book of photographs Experiencing Nirvana - Grunge in Europe, 1989, Pavitt was asked if there was a 'band who got away'.
He replied: "The White Stripes. Jack White was the lead guitar player for The Go, an awesome garage band from Detroit, who released Whatcha Doin in 1999 on Sub Pop. Unfortunately, he didn't bring the White Stripes to Sub Pop."
Watch out for RTÉ TEN's full interview with Bruce Pavitt, which will be published on Tuesday September 9.
