Metallica have made history by becoming the first and only band to perform a concert on all seven continents in one year, following their gig in Antarctica on December 8, 2013.
The band's historic achievement will be immortalised in the Guinness World Records book for 2015, which is set to be released on September 10.
The rockers performed to 120 scientists and competition winners at Carlini Station in Antarctica, in an hour-long show which was dubbed 'Freeze 'Em All'.
Metallica’s lead singer, James Hetfield said, “Seven continents in one year with Antarctica being THE gig of a lifetime...Yes, 120 scientists and competition winners. Not to mention the 300 very curious penguins!”
