The Late Late Show, 9.35pm, RTÉ One

Well, that's it: summer is definitely over now that the schools are back, and The Late Late Show has returned, with Ryan Tubridy hosting another season of entertainment, music and interviews. Now in its early fifties, the world's longest-running TV chat show – it began as a summer filer back in 1962 - is still hugely popular, uniquely Irish in its presentation, and Ryan Tubridy's now entering his sixth season in the hot seat. The Walking Dead, 11.30pm, RTÉ Two

Season four of this blood-and-guts-soaked post-apocalyptic zombie drama continues with Andrew Lincoln still leading the group of disparate humans as they battle against the odds – and the never-ending number of Walkers looking for living lunch. Big School, 9.30pm, BBC One

Episode two of the comedy series starring David Walliams, Catherine Tate, Philip Glenister and Frances de la Tour. However, her spirits are soon raised by the arrival of the dashing Dr Dalton, who’s taking over teaching geography – news that doesn’t go down well with Mr Gunn , especially as he’s just splashed his salary on a flashy new motor.
