RTÉ radio stations have received 37 nominations for the PPI Radio Awards 2014.

There are 31 nominations for RTÉ Radio 1 programmes; two for RTÉ 2fm; three for RTÉ lyric fm and one for RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta.

RTÉ Radio 1's nominations include: News Story of the Year (The Trauma of Forced Adoption - Brian O'Connell for Today with Sean O'Rourke); News Programme of the Year (Morning Ireland and News at One); Sports Programme of the Year (Sunday Sport); Documentary of the Year (Call of the Dark with Michael Harding and The Garda Who Limped) and News Broadcaster of the Year (Colm Ó Mongáin).

RTÉ 2fm's Nicky Byrne Show with Jenny Greene is shortlisted for Newcomer of the Year (Nicky Byrne) and Music Programme of the Year.

RTÉ lyric fm is nominated for Specialist Music Broadcaster of the Year (Donald Helme), Music Special/Music Event of the Year (The lyric Concert: The Music of Shaun Davey in Celebration of St Patrick) and New Irish Music/Musical Talent Programme (Nova).

RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta is nominated for Specialist Music Programme for An Taobh Tuathail.

The winners will be announced at the Lyrath Estate Hotel, Kilkenny on Friday October 3.
