Dax Shepard and Michael Pena are to star as Officers Jon Baker and Frank 'Ponch' Poncherello in a film adaptation of the much-loved TV police series CHiPs.
Deadline.com, which broke the story, says that Shepard will also write and direct the film, which is described as being in the vein of Bad Boys and Lethal Weapon rather than a comedy.
The website says that Shepard, who is also a professional race car driver and motorcyclist, expects to perform his own stunts in the film.
